Would this have been a crime or unethical? Is there a market for doing adversarial research and profiting from the ensuing damage?
- lopmotr 6y agoNot at all. Investors do this all the time to gain an edge over each other. It's ethical because they're actually providing a service by moving the stock price towards a more fair value so subsequent investors don't get ripped off. Some investors will lose money but those are the ones that didn't bother to do useful work investigating the company.
