Honestly, they don't try hard not make it look glamorous. This extravaganza is totally part of what makes people watch it.
- sdwa 8y agoIndeed the one thing that sticks out in my mind about The Wolf of Wall Street is that no effort was made to show all the harm he did to the people he stole from. It was just one very, very long spectacle. Not a film I'd watch twice.
- pbhjpbhj 8y agoAgreed. It's a celebration of a lifestyle that Hollywood perpetually presents as the pinnacle of human experience - drugs, loose morals, sexual promiscuity, and fast cars; the means of acquisition aren't usually considered as important as the acquisition itself.
- nradov 8y agoIn the same genre, Boiler Room did a good job showing the harm done to the victims of Wall Street con artists.
