Merriam Webster and the Oxford English Dictionary already accept the use of "literally" to mean "virtually" in informal contexts. It's a losing battle. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/literally http://oxforddictionaries.com/def

With Flex and AirVideo transcoding is done in real time and works really well. Zero wait time for uploading and transcoding sure beats even a few minutes.

For me it's the flexibility of window splits. In Vim I use both vertical and horizontal splits constantly, sometimes having 6 open at a time to deal with, for example, a Rails model, controller and view along with a CSS and JavaScript file

The Hipmunk demo miscategorizes most of the "neutral" tweets: http://recon.io/demo/neutral About 50% of those are easily positive with quite a few more that could fall into the positive category without much debate.

If you slam on the brakes, yes, you'll fall. However in my experience in practice it is not hard to get used to braking on a longboard. I've done it and seen lots of other people do it without crashing. You probably don't stop as fast as yo

Absolutely. The weight difference is definitely the biggest difference. I've ridden longboards with both foot and hand brakes. All the hand braking boards I've tried had a cable from the board to the controls and even with that hassle, I mu

There have been plenty of electric longboards before, but none even close to this size. Someone else linked to this: http://www.zboardshop.com/ which is basically the same idea but the difference in implementation is night and day. This b

I agree that yes, you should definitely be experienced if you're going to be going 20mph on a longboard. It's fast. But, if you've got brakes, and I've ridden both electric skateboards with brakes and non-electric skateboards with brakes be

Pinterest seems like the best example. I don't have any numbers but explosive growth and fanatical users seem to be good circumstantial evidence for infinite scrolling. Prismatic also uses it and personally I love it on that site.

If only it were that simple. The problem is that you don't know what the 'right way' is until you've done it once and discovered all of your the mistakes and pitfalls. The temptation then becomes to start over and do it right after having l

There's an app that'll show you the temperature in realtime on the icon without the need to open the app. It's called eWeather HD and uses the notifications feature of iOS in a pretty clever way. The app itself is a little obtuse, but havin

For what it's worth, if you jailbreak you can change the default browser. Though having done that and used Atomic Browser for awhile as the default, I can say that the performance hit isn't compensated for by the nicer tabs, user agent swit

Another book that has several chapters related to GEB is David Deutsch's "The Beginning of Infinity." It's a very accessible read, and for me, eye-opening in more than one way.

The problem with licensing Meteor as GPL is that it creates a high level of uncertainty. If I'm going to start a new hobby or side project, perhaps hoping that it'll get bigger someday, I still have no idea if, when or how it'll make money
