Interesting. Did you learn cursive in elementary school? I find the sample really easy and pleasant to read. I wonder if it's a difference in experience or just personal preference.

There are no Postgres or Mysql add-ons for Meteor that are actively maintained or even close to production ready. Hopefully you can prove me wrong on this, but I've looked and have only found preview releases and alpha quality packages

A friend showed me http://gethibou.com/ yesterday. Basically the idea seems to be that you bookmark a page, highlight what you want to remember and they use spaced-repetition to help you remember it. It might go along well

OP here. I mostly agree with you. If the filesystem was better at a few things then it'd be the ideal PK. Right now though it isn't enough. It's too slow or too inconvenient for most things you'd want in a PK. Creating f

One of the main reasons for using a personal knowledgebase is surfacing patterns in what you've saved. If there is no way of visualizing the relationship between notes/nodes outside of a flat list, pattern finding is limited to wh

Freemind is great for mindmapping in the context of a specific topic or project, but isn't a general purpose knowledgebase. A mindmap starts at a central node and moves outward. This makes it limited in the practical number of nodes yo

If you're trying to figure out Goldlist and having a hard time, this video helped me understand the actual method much faster than reading the 22 step list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixxq8moh4pg

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes is an interesting take on consciousness that seems to come up often in these types of discussions.

I pay for Kindle Unlimited and can say first-hand that it has a terrible selection of mostly self-published and second rate books. Kindle itself of course has the best selection, but that's on a pay-per-book model. The brilliant thing

Oyster was something that Google Play or Amazon Kindle Unlimited will almost certainly never be. The beautiful design and focus on details was just the surface. It felt like a company run by people that are passionate about reading and surf

I've tried it, the main problem I have withe it is that the whole DB has to be loaded into memory. It seems like it would be slow and unwieldy with even a moderate sized database. I'm still keeping it open as an option, but I like

This article is the perfect example of why not to use Linux on the desktop. A lot of fiddling around that eventually leads to a result that is far inferior to what you'd get just using OS X or Windows.

As a Picturelife customer with over 200gb of pictures backed up, and as an Everpix refugee, I really hope this turns out to be the case. If Picturelife disappears, I'm not going to start over somewhere else.

Why would this be game over for AeroFS? Yes, BT Sync is direct competition, but I've used AeroFS for over two years now, since their early alphas and AeroFS works almost flawlessly for P2P sync. It also has S3 sync for their team server whi
