Hope not to sound like a extreme liberal, but a lot of the highly illegal hard drugs, aren't nearly as hazardous or addicting as they made out to be and can have positive effects - IF used right. That includes psilocybin, MDMA, THC, DMT, LS

Yes Apple seems to be stupid in their own ways, and that a big reason why Android is overtaking them. No one can argue that Apple is a successful company, but I believe they could have had a de facto MONOPOLY on smartphones right now. First

The root of the problem lies in the OS and their SDK. For a while BlackBerrys were the best platform to develop for. Symbian, pain is the ass. JavaME, even worse. WM6 was a little bit better, but it still was a pretty bad WinCE fork, with a

You really think so? I mean these are cables, there's no secret how to make them and they've been making them for decades, so they'll probably know what they are doing. There's no user experience on cables. It doesn't seem so far fetched to

Planned Obsolence ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_obsolescence ). Yes Apple is doing it, does it surprise anybody? edit: well thanks for the downvotes, I know RDF is strong here but consider how they removed the strain rings, how the

Exactly, I've broken two of the cables so far and they are just bad. Period. Then, someone gave me a different, much more robust, cable, and I thought: "oh ok they realized their flaw, finally they improved their power coords". - Now I look

Even better: Hack the iTunes Match service to let it think you have MP3s, that you don't even have on your system. Bam, instant free access to all music on iTunes. (well almost free)

Apple is too professional to get the amateurish web.. pfff what kind of non scene is that? As if web companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter etc. were a bunch of disorganized slackers and that is somehow more successful on the net. Weird a

Meh mixed feelings. First the whole Metro UI seems to run on top of a normal Windows as an alternative glorified launcher. He mentions that Apps are written in some kind of new HTML/Javascript framework - now I don't know exactly how its go

Yes! I'm glad finally someone like Gruber shared his opinion on this. Integrating Twitter in native apps has been a huge pain for me and trying to explain clients why they can't have a native branded user/password dialog in the app (like "a

In my experience it is more 'fun' to write C code then to lay down yet another line of boiler-plate high level code. However, it seems to take longer to get things done and the resulting code is also much more error-prone (at least my code
