I was thinking the same thing... Ember works great without ember-data. In fact, I haven't used ember-data in any of my 6 ember apps.

AWS is adding an upper limit to spot price bids of 4X the on-demand cost, as of December 20: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/using-spo... This may be in response to some of the crazy bids w

That's not true - the price you set is the max price you're willing to pay. If your price is higher than the current spot price, you pay the current spot price. The blog post author must be mistaken somehow.

Exercise early enough that the spread between your strike price and the value is small. :)

Technically, you owe taxes the moment you buy something with Bitcoins that have appreciated in value: http://www.bitcointax.info/ (That says nothing about how many people actually report that though.)

I think that's the problem - there are differing opinions on what "cloud" actually means.

Usually a migration is adding a column. That takes the same time with 1M rows as it does with 1 row (in Postgres).

I try to always use primary/[secondary,replica]. It's still difficult, for some reason. Client/server just makes no sense though.

This works for one trade. Then you need to get your dollars out of MtGox, and it takes a month, and your arbitrage is stalled.

When I've asked people to reverse a char* in the past, it's just been to see if they understand the basics of pointers. The XOR "trick" hasn't been impressive since high school. :)

How can you say that Bitcoin is more expensive than gold? I'm not sure how you'd even compare them.

This isn't true anymore. RDS now exposes an external replication stream for Mysql. AWS actually doesn't seem to be that interested in vendor lock-in. They usually build what people ask for.

If the reward gets low enough that people stop mining, then the network adapts to make mining easier, keeping the mining rate constant. It's brilliant.

Bitcoin mining is how the blockchain is built. If everyone stopped mining, there would be no new transactions.

Inky looks pretty cool, but I had the same reaction as porker when I read that part. I don't think he's trying to malign you, it's just a pretty blatantly false statement amongst a sea of neat-looking stuff.

What made you think the author is critical of Apple? Apple cannibalizes themselves all the time. It's one of the great things about them, that they're not afraid to do it.
