True. On the other hand, S3's record after 7 years has proved to be pretty fantastic, which is even more important.

We're parsing 2k lines/sec with logstash using regexes. We scaled it out to 6 logstash processes across 2 nodes. They pull off a shared redis queue and then insert the results directly into elasticsearch. (That said, I'd like

Looks to me like this doesn't support more than one redis instance in a cluster (to make a ring) - just replication groups. I'm guessing that's a "TBD" thing. :(

Logstash, ES, and Kibana actually are more KISS than any other log searching setup I've tried. Except for grep of course.

[I saw it back at Sundance.] The critics are pretty harsh on it, but if you're at all interested in the subject matter, it's definitely worth seeing. I thought it was flawed but interesting.

The exclusion of AMT from the discussion about exercising ISOs was pretty egregious. A lot of people seem to get burned by that.

This is just abstracting the process of sending a notification to the different backends - which is fairly significant. Apple, for one, requires you to hold open a TCP connection to them, they don't provide a REST-ish sort of interface

So far, Google hasn't shown ads in search results that look like other search results though. This seems like a shift for them.

FooBarWidget (who you replied to) is actually Phusion, the maker of Passenger (the very popular Rails app server). I think they have some very strong anecdotal evidence. Up until recently Passenger was completely free, with donation options
