They're shipping out units that cost more than what the kickstarter brought in. Presumably it's coming out of Cringley's pocket.

Do the async methods actually execute on a thread pool though? Or do they use enough async methods internally to periodically release the main thread enough to keep it responsive? From a quick glance at the source, the answer to the first i

Does that library do the calculations in a thread pool, or is it just async on the main thread? If the latter (which seems mostly likely), then it won't matter.

The default Lambda limit is 100 concurrently running Lambdas. AWS will raise this if you ask, I believe.

When I was in NYC last month, Apple Maps walking directions were consistently better than Google Maps. It was shocking. Overall, it's still not nearly as good as Google but I'm much more likely to try both now and compare, than ju

I was a die-hard Sparrow user when that was killed. I've been using Inbox now since it came out, and it mostly fits the bill. I wish there was a desktop app like Sparrow, but the browser UI is decent. I still have to open gmail occasio

I wonder what "go support" means. Would that not just executing a binary? If data is passed to it via a file handle, wouldn't that mean any executable would work? Or will you give it source code? I know you don't have th

Your experience with AWS support is generally correlated with how much you pay. After many years of grumbling, we're finally at the highest level and support is pretty great. As it should be, given the price. You're exactly right
