You're in the minority then... My original comment has been downvoted quite a bit. It's strange to me that people think this is okay. If someone is willing to use that power for a prank, it seems to me more likely that they'l

I hope that ssh'ing into anyone's laptop using your sysadmin credentials in order to play a prank is a fireable offense at your company.

If DNS is hijacked, the hijacker could also get valid SSL certificates (using MX records to get confirmation emails, etc).

Pay-per-usage of apps (similar to streaming music) might be really interesting. Of course, games already kind of do that via IAP and it absolutely sucks, so who knows.

Something hits the moon with enough force to cause it to break apart. He doesn't speculate at all what it might have been. I think he'd say it doesn't really matter - It happened, now what?

An obvious move for Amazon. They'll be able to make SSL certificate management pretty painless for people using ELB.

You pay for request time too, measured in 100ms increments. And you pay more for more CPU/RAM.

CarMax is also decent if you want to sell a car with little hassle. You'll get less than you would privately, but it's so dang easy it's almost worth it.

Right... So Case stores two of your keys, and only two keys are needed to transfer money. The security claim seems overblown.

For things like filesystem access, you'd want more threads than CPUs because that's not CPU heavy. It still seems like they could choose a saner default though.

Yeah, perhaps as an additional block device you can mount with whatever permissions you want.

I don't think you can provide exactly once even with that constraint. What if the defined period of time was 100 years?

Boost's asio has backends (reactors) for IOCP, kqueue, etc. The whole point is you write to one interface and take advantage of their performance.

You can use some of the trigger-based replication methods too, for a low-downtime migration. Read the second half of this post: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/rds-postgres-read-replicas/
