What an honest an refreshing perspective! I loved the quote from Donald Knuth: If you find that you’re spending almost all your time on theory, start turning some attention to practical things; it will improve your theories. If you fi

Wild hypotheses: while GPT-4 is probably not self-aware , you could build a "thin-wrapper" around it that you tell what GPT-4 is, and how it behaves, making it self-aware. self-aware and conscious are strictly speaking not the s

One large use case is certainly data analysis. But one big challenge with analytics is: you always get a result. Wrong filter, wrong aggregation function, wrong table or wrong join can all still result in plausible but wrong results. Halluc

We probably stay with the next token prediction task for training the foundation. It generalizes really well. However, transformers are not able to loop. In a fixed amount of computing steps, they need to predict. For long-term planning, we

Thanks for setting up a limited free version. The UX is great. I had some failures for huggingface and cohere. Replicate produced an output that was not rendered (but returned an answer in the network tab). It would also be great to add: h

It is fair to critize that some workloads on Snowflake are expensive. What I found however is that Snowflake is indeed super cheap if we look at Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Compared with other cloud data warehouses it is even easy for to

The question is not _if_ it will be cheaper, but _when_. Gas is a limited resource. We will eventually run out of it, the closer we get to that point the more expensive gas will become. But that point - without political intervention - can

I really appreciate this perspective. Better tooling to enable individuals to penetrate more layers of abstraction sound great. To some extend e.g. with cloud providers this is already happening. We have more powerful building blocks than e

We use ArangoDB and are super happy. But I guess it depends on your use case. We operate in the area of 1 million records. Everything is super fast and the ability to also have search, graph and document workloads was most important for us.
