Author of the original article here. If you have some customers that rely on GitHub-specific features and some others that rely on GitLab-specific features then you will have to support both set of APIs.

What if you are on Python 3.10 and the Python code was built using Python 3.11 features? I don't think `pipx` would work in that case.

pip will install dependencies transitively. Some of those dependencies or some version of those might be uninstallable on certain platforms and you won't even know! Further, if I am building using Python 3.11 features and you are stuck
