The confabulation to justify picking out related images that the left brain never observed (chicken and snow shovel in the article) reminds me profoundly of the confident slop produced by LLMs. Make you wonder if llms might be one half of t

Ok, lets get some things straight. Musk has /claimed/ (repeatedly) that he is a free speech absolutist, and by extension that twitter is as well. This is false: https://english.elpais.com/international/2023-05

On the assumption you are acting in good faith, that is a very poor analogy. I think a more apt one would be: Imagine asking for a shit-free meal, and you're served a meal with just a little bit of shit in it.

It happens often enough in linguistics to have its own name, a deverbal noun. Have a drink, go for a walk, and I guess now "has more compute". As far as modern english language development, seems better than skibidi toilet

If you've got the budget for it, e-ink monitors are becoming more available recently, and I've heard that they make a huge difference for eye strain. There are still only a few companies manufacturing panels that large, and I thin

Echoing all the comments here calling this bill absolutely ludicrous. If you're determined to make a gun, and determined to 3d print it, then making a diy machine is as easy as ordering a few stepper motors, some linear extrusion and a

Not only that, but it the way it wraps around their skull acts like a shock dampener for their brain when they peck. Their skulls experience something like 1200g during a peck, humans get a serious concussion around 60g. Evolution is wild

This is pretty bizarre. Anyone technical enough to know or care about ISO standards is going to be able to see right through this bullshit. Honestly all this does is weaken the other standards out forth by ISO, to my eyes. What's next?

A bit beside the point of TFA, but reading about "rewilding ourselves" reminded me of some research on human parasites [0]. Tldr is that the parasite dampens the immune system, and our bodies have evolved to deal with that dampeni

I agree that is a better use for excess power than just dumping it into a resistor, but why go through all the extra effort? Batteries are getting better and better and better, and choosing to use excess generated power to generate hydrogen
