Can Netflix and Alphabet ‘reverse’ the problem and block the ISP that throttle them? I imagine some consumers would rather change ISP than stop using Netflix/google. (I would but that’s my UK perspective)

Depends what you do, I am building EU (UK) company right now. We started before GDPR but we had it in mind early on and I don't believe it made it any harder for us. Obviously our business model didn't assume selling our costumer

I don't believe it helps with any problem. Apart from higher chance of investment and approval within company for being 'innovative'. They are solving simple problem with complex and unproven technology.

depends on what you want to build. In my experience it's great for simple prototypes. I see more and more people using it for bigger projects. Also you can always gradually move back to native if needed.

EU surprisingly did take strong position when Ukraine crisis started. Only way EU countries can stand against Russia is if they have backing of NATO. Without this noone will take the risk.
