Game piracy doesn't work on game consoles. In order to pirate you have to jailbreak it (and risk bricking it in the process). Jailbroken consoles also don't work online. And not all firmware versions are vulnerable. Basically - it

What's especially fucked up in that case is that Google suspended his account and didn't restore it even after the cops closed the case and said that it wasn't a crime. So the lesson is clear - avoid Google as much as possibl

Locked down computing devices existed well before before the iPhone was a thing. Pretty much all gaming consoles are locked down. I'm fine with them existing as long as a non-locked down option is available. And controls like that woul

Except in this case everybody knows that there's a backdoor that can be exploited.

ANd yet - Google is making one of the best phones that can work perfectly fine without any Google software installed. (Pixel series). Nobody forces you to use Apple softeware. I have never owned a single Apple device and never will.

Also how do they prevent this from being exploited by hackers? If there's a backdoor it's naive to think that only the "good guys" will use it. Also what if some hackers put something on my phone to intentionally trigger

So we need to go back to talking to people irl. And basically assume that anything you read online is not written by real people unless proven otherwise.

Something like Makehuman could be a good starting point for humanoid characters.

Many rural areas have no gas stations nearby, but they do have electricity. So it's now actually more practical to have an EV in those places.

They have no way to enforce that "no bad things" clause. In practice they provide a product with no restrictions. Unlike other AI image generators - there's no keyword filter - you can input whatever you want in there.

Stable Diffusion is a project like that. It cost millions to develop it. It is free, open source and can be run locally.

Stable Diffusion is free and open source and can be run locally. I see no reason why we can't have free and open source ChatGPT too.

Can't wait until we have the option to run chatgpt locally. Stable Diffusion can be run locally and it has no restrictions whatsoever.

If you want to add new stuff to Stable Diffusion - you don't have to retrain the main model from scratch. You can train it only on a few hundred images at a time and then add the resulting model as an extension or merge it into the ma

AI art generators were shitty for decades. But now they got so good that many artists are afraid to lose their jobs. ChatGPT and other chatbots will improve too.

Gay people won their culture war in some places. Gay marriage is still illegal in most countries. In many countries even homosexuality itself is illegal.

I already moved from reddit to neogaf. It's nice - nobody bans you for saying that GTA should not be censored. And discussions about politics are banned.
