Interestingly, I use Hipchat with one team I work with and Slack with another, and far and away prefer Hipchat. The Mac Slack app feels like a web page inside a chromeless browser window. The Hipchat Mac app feels like a real app (albeit on

As someone who has interviewed software engineers at a place like FB, I disagree. Sure, if you came in and stridently argued that this is the only possible solution, or if you couldn't explain the reasons you prefer it, or the tradeoff

I replaced Wordpress with a home-built solution that is drastically simpler. It retains most of the URL compatibility so links wouldn't break, but it has only a tiny fraction of the functionality of Wordpress (most of which we didn

Regarding going after buyers, if potential buyers know that buying a counterfeit item puts them at legal risk, I think the market for said counterfeit items will shrink substantially. I think that could be a potentially convincing argument

You might not hear those words from a millenial, but I’ve heard many millenials complaining that their philosophy degree didn’t get them a well-paying job, or that it’s unfair for employers to expect them to already know how to do a job bef

So, I assume this is Android only right now? The screenshots seem to imply that, but they never come out and say it.

Facebook pays well, has good benefits, is relatively stable (very stable compared to an early stage startup), offers an opportunity to work on a much larger scale than almost any startup, and is (mostly) populated with a group of very smart

I agree. My iPhone 6 is too big. Not an iPhone 6, just a regular iPhone. I've had it since launch day, so I've had plenty of time to get used to it. Whenever I pick up my wife's 5S, it's like a breath of fresh air.

I went to a state school over 15 years ago, and while I haven't done the math, I'm almost positive my total expenses over four years exceeded 100k even then. I was lucky enough to have money from my parents, good paying jobs (for

I've moved around a lot and I've had both TWC and Comcast in several locations each. I actually found the service from Comcast to be far better than TWC. I mean, they're a loathsome company, but the actual quality of the serv

When you have to update 15 different recurring accounts, and it happens 2 or 3 times a year, it gets to be a burden. Despite it happening that often to me, I almost invariably would find some account I forgot to update every time until they

I keep obsessive track, and over the last 12 years I've been roughly equivalent to the S&P 500 (which, again, I attribute far more to luck than anything else). Like I said, this is for fun, not for true investment purposes. So anyt

If I'm being honest, I trade as a form of gambling. And I treat it just like I'd treat traditional gambling if I partook (the most I'll do is $5 or $10 in a poker machine). I only trade with money I can afford to lose. It

I thought LinkedIn had a contact sync app that people can run to pull all of their LinkedIn contacts into their own address book. If so, could it be that one of your connections ran that, and their machine is compromised?

I've never had a job that would be ok with me working part time for someone else. So I'd have to quit my job to do a trial run with you. At that point, I'm not sure it's better to be let go after 30 days instead of 90 or
