Part of the reason for this is that paid support has been needed for awhile. Prioritizing support for billions of people is very difficult. It's a lot easier if people want to pay that they can priority support.

"Excessive speed" in the statistics is purely based on posted speed limit. The way posted speed limits are set in the US is not based on safety.

EF core makes it simple to test against a real sqlite db. It is super fast to run the tests and gives a reasonably realistic outcome.

Houston also had minimum parking requirements. Also, TXDOT literally built highways through the city. It's not JUST zoning, but zoning is a large part of it. Houston does have way lower housing costs than other places though.

Every state/local already continually asks for federal handouts to maintain their overbuilt 8 lane roads. The fact that people still want to add lanes to roads is mind boggling.

Truly, micromobility like E-bikes are cheap, require much less space, healthier and are more social. Governments do not know how to build for micromobility yet it seems.

My understanding is that in most places taxes would go down for homes. They would go up massively for those with vacant lots or a lot of land in prime areas that is being underutilized, which is why LVT is great.

A mini split is usually a heat pump system although some of them use resistive heating. They have been getting much better in recent years.

Even if you do need to make thicker pipes, strength in a metal generally increases with the square of the thickness, so it doesn't cost twice as much in materials to double the strength.
