>We are talking about speeding drivers here. And? "Speeding" as is experienced in the life of the daily American is a joke. Tens, if not 100+ million Americans "Speed" every day. Remember that speeding is just 1 MPH o

Exactly. I'm finding it very hard to follow HN's rules and not engage in personal attacks against the developer in this thread. It's hard to put into words the disdain I feel towards the kinds of people who build things like

You're making a rather large and unsupported assumption that "speeding" is dangerous. In the overwhelming majority of cases it is not. 10-100M people in the US speed every day. "Speeding" as a term makes no distinct

Oh I like HEVC in theory, but its patent encumbrance/licensing has delayed it’s rollout immeasurably. These realities far outweigh the technical benefits IMO.

I’ll bite. Yes I am, but on the other hand none of the SEC’s decisions have impacted me negatively. I have never held XRP for example, so while I dislike them it’s entirely because I don’t believe they should exist in the first place, they

Finally! Given the large overall percentage of web bandwidth that’s video this will really help. Hopefully Apple pushes this over HEVC/VVC garbage in their next release.

I for one get really annoyed with the people who go “it’s aliens!” every time, but the cynical “debooonkers” that will seemingly go to any length to say it’s _not_ aliens bother me even more. We simply need more information.

So when the pilot says “it’s rotating!” And the lens flare rotates with it, that’s just a coincidence? The far-away-plane hypothesis would have the exhaust as a point source. The lens flare would maintain it’s orientation as the plane rolle

Except they had RADAR locks, experienced jamming, and had visual identification in some cases. The whole “lens flare from a far away plane” hypothesis has been throughly debunked. You have to ignore evidence to reach that conclusion.

The core claim of this joke of a production is that it’s just lens flare. They use weasel words to hedge their bets, but their intention is pretty clear. The facts are that these pilots also saw these things with their own eyes and got rada

Mick West is a buffoon, and his “debunking” videos intentionally mislead his audience. I say this because he has had this explained to him again and again but he still ignores evidence. When you have infrared, multiple radar, and visual obs
