"Available" is a generous word. It's actually pretty hard to find even from underground anabolic steroid sellers. The only reason I was able to get my hands on it was because a seller was getting rid of his stock. The main re

Sure, although I guess to be clear I wouldn't recommend DNP to anyone because it's absolutely not the miracle weight loss drug it seems to be when you read about it on the internet.

I tried, but DNP basically gave me a perpetual fever (aka pyrexia) so I didn't train. I assume it would have had a pretty noticeable effect though.

I took a standard DNP fat loss dose, the effects (weight loss and others) are vastly overstated. You'd have to take well in excess of any recommended dose to get to the point where the waste heat production would become dangerous. You&

There's also mutable that compiles to WASM and lets it get JITed by v8 https://github.com/mutable-org/mutable .

Do you know if there is anybody taking this approach? Alternatively, what would you consider to be the current state of the art when it comes to query optimizers?

I can't wait until this tech progresses to the point it can reliably tutor for more advanced courses like real analysis, group theory, linear algebra, etc. I actually wondered if it would be feasible to use NLP techniques to check user

The overemployment philosophy is to be so good at your job that you can do N (where N > 1) jobs in the usual 40 hours per week. So really, it's about finding those companies where you can meet those expectations.

Agreed, and I'll go one further. This is why you should work multiple jobs, aka overemployment.

I bought a Lenovo mini-pc for $570 and it took a month before I canceled it and bought a mac mini M1 for $599, with much better hardware.

I took a look at https://github.com/orioledb/orioledb which is a project attempting to remedy some of Postgres' shortcomings, including MVCC. It looks like they're doing something similar to MySQL with a redo

I guess the question is, which MVCC strategy would be the "right" one to pick for a modern relational database? The paper linked focuses on main memory databases, and being main memory allows you to do things you can't do whe

As I learned it, Photograph 51 was so good that anybody with any crystallography experience would have been able to tell the structure at a glance. Exactly, like you said she wanted to sit on it and get more data because, allegedly, she had

I'd be curious, if somebody bought the book, to know what kind of concurrency they write about, as in just 2 phase locking, or if it talks about MVCC.

Are there any plans to support multi-tenancy? I understand that the current recommendation is to run multiple separate deployments, but will it be supported for a single deployment?

Yes, I like it very much. I've run into some edge cases with it, and I wish there was a setting to change the names of some of the autogenerated code, but otherwise it works very well.

I usually just write the SQL, honestly. For the last 6ish years of my career I've mainly been in the Golang world, so the closest I've gotten to an ORM is a utility to scan rows into structs.

I pretty much agree with this. As much as I liked the core language, I absolutely hated using anything else in the ecosystem, and in my opinion a lot of that was due to lack of static types. Using Ecto as the main way of interacting with th

I mean nothing wrong with using a domain for routing, but I think most SaaSes would rather have a routing based on the email address.
