Zitadel could be amazing, but as far as I can tell they don’t allow using your own UI screens, and it’s not obvious to me how you’d build a multi tenant SSO feature. They have the concept of organizations, but it’s not obvious to me how you

What kind of tooling does MariaDB/MySQL have that you miss when using Postgres? I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about the ecosystem as I am with Postgres.

Cellular architecture is a complexity trap that's 100% not worth it unless you're a cloud provider, or Confluent size. I've been at DBaaS companies that wanted to do it and instead ended up with the worst of all worlds. With

In the US, the basic concurrency topics are covered in an OS class, which I believe is a mandatory part of the curriculum. But a course dedicated to it would definitely be an elective.

It's pretty rare you need to write anything generic unless you're writing a library, or library like functionality.

Square/Block (used to?) ask only 1 system design question and the recruiter would let you know ahead of time so you could prepare for it. Probably because it allows for deeper questioning and answering of relevant technical skills.

I'm no longer in the game, but circa counter-strike 1.1 or 1.3, the typical way was using windows hooking API to load your hack into the running process. You could then simply use the freely available half life modding sdk to use the s

Curious, though I feel like when I develop using an IDE like intellij, there's some sluggishness when the project files are on the wsl file system. Is it because of mixing between the windows one where the IDE is installed, and the wsl

I suspect in some states, it might have implications for collecting unemployment. But given how almost all long term employment is "at will", there isn't really any meaningful distinction, except colloquially, I suspect.

That's true about Lorentz, although for completeness I just want to point out that the geometric spacetime extension was done by Minkowski.

General relativity links geometry to the stress energy tensor, so even if photons are massless I don’t think calling the effect “interaction” is necessarily wrong.

Why would dark energy be a hack? We know that the universe's expansion is accelerating. Since it's accelerating, and not expanding at a constant rate, that means there has to be something driving that. Dark energy is basically a &

I don't think I've ever, out of all my physics classes up to grad seminars, been given the impression we have everything figured out. In fact, it was hammered into us that all we have are "effective" theories, at least w
