I use Nix for that all of the time. My workflow is usually like this: * upstream has a bug. * find and fix the bug, send a PR. * update the Nix code to build with either the PR branch as the source, or the PR diff as a patch. What's mi

Wouldn't you expect the number of murders to go down if there are more activists united in one region? To paint a clearer picture you would have to look at the distribution of both murders and new activists. I bet there are more online

Interesting. Is the cache shared between all the websites that install this product? What happens to a HTTP request to a browser whenever they close their tab, is it retried on another browser?

How stable is the CDN when the each node lifetime is 5 minutes? The likelihood of an ongoing request being cut off is fairly high. Nodes are also constantly in syncing state I assume.

You might have paid the TV second hand, and not be aware of the theft. What recourse do you have then? You're out of pocket, the seller might not be reachable anymore, and you have no proof of purchase.

iCloud is not P2P encrypted so it's likely that they already do. They can do it without your knowledge or having to push a software update.

I bet that we will see insurance companies emerge in the market. Contracts will send a portion of the transaction to an insurance company. The insurance company would mandate "layers" to validate the contract. Users can then claim

This is Microsoft's version of the WiFi captive portal. For the attack to work, the attacker needs to control the network, and also exploit a hole in the host browsers. I remember Apple having to fix Safari a few years back, related to

Both tools can be used to create cloud resources and configure machines but fundamentally they are very different. Ansible is a list of actions that you apply linearly. Each action might be a noop if it already exists. Terraform is a tree o

Ads are an attack on our attention. When I go to a website, I decide to direct my attention to this website, because I believe it will offer something of interest to me. Obviously things don't come for free, somebody has to pay for it,
