> They will (semi)randomly pick some third-party crate which in all likelihood is totally unvetted. That this is the norm for a language that focuses on security is mind-boggling. Didn't we learn anything from the NPM mess?

> Even the Go standard library is quickly aging If anything, I found go stdlib to age like fine wine. It doesn't do everything under the sun, but what it does it does very well and can easily be extended if needed.

I have Steves book on paperback. Haven't had time to read it all and given the rate things are moving now I am afraid that some of it could be outdated. As a developer, what I really want to hear is that Rust 2022 will be basically Rus

Note that Linux certification applies only to specific distros/versions. Ubuntu LTS works flawless on my thinkpad but some stuff break on Ubuntu 21.10.

But has anyone actually defunded the police? I think the main problem is the _unbelievable_ level of incompetence roaming freely within the police force. They never catch the bad guys [1] and the money you give them may be used to buy expen

A few years back androidpolice had a article on how apple gets _media_ to hate android. For example, friendly publications would regularly receive "dirt" on android directly from apple execs. I recall this was confirmed by macworl

But most of these are meaningless if you don't work full days on the run. Most of us sits in an office with a big monitor and a mouse and keyboard most of the time. And I don't get the "better productivity" talk either.

I only learned two things in 2021: 1. When you actually have the time to binge them you will notice that most new netflix/disney/... series are pretty boring and/or stupid. 2. As much as I hate admitting it, I actually miss t
