Seriously, WTF is "The Construct"? The original title was much more informative. I'm not against editing headlines, but throwing away an informative one for something my teenage brother would name a band is not helpful.

This article is very ambiguous on what kind of linux talent they see as being needed. Are they looking for sysadmins or developers? By linux do they mean using tools like gcc, make, etc? Or do they mean writing tools against a POSIX interfa

So I've only been tangentially involved with these online education companies, what makes Coursera classes so much worse than Udacity?

This is called strength training, and yes, if you spend the majority of your day holding your arms up your muscles will adapt and it will become easier to do for longer without as many breaks.

Flagged. Seriously, how did this get upvoted? It is a picture of a police officer standing somewhat close to a google car. A tl;dr would be longer than the story because there is literally no text.

I have no reason to upgrade to ML. I don't really use my Air all that much, but if they fixed this I would upgrade in a second. Too bad.

Good read. My biggest question is why didn't the artist just ask the apple store if it would be ok to install an app that took photos instead of asking if it would be ok to take photos? My guess is he knew they would say no, but I could b

Seems like not much coding happens in America... /snark Seriously though, the author goes into more detail about his coffee than his job. I assume the purpose of a post like this is to publicize and advertise for CfA, but it doesn't really

You're missing the point. I would like it if they just paid me an extra $7500 a year as well. Then I would end up taking a 7-day working vacation. I know it's not good for me, but I do it anyways. I sure as hell wouldn't spend $7500 on

I'm not trying to be snarky, but apparently they don't care that much if they can't handle working with developers about an issue as simple as this. Even just telling them "We have decided not to reinstate your app, sorry" would be better

To be fair (and like others have said re: Amazon), this sounds pretty particular to a specific team. In other teams, it's pretty clear what you have to do in order to get promoted. I overheard from some employees that at the last meeting

Here's my issues with this line of thought. For one, why is 99c considered "reasonable" for a song? I feel as though this price point has little to do with the economics of the song-making business and a lot to do with the economics of iTu

I have a 13" MBA, and the reason I chose it over the pro is that it has an SSD. I've killed hard drives before thanks to them not sleeping when I shut my lid. But I can't do real work on it for long periods of time, I need my dual monitor
