The keyboard trainer seems to be slightly broken, ASET != ARST and NEIO != NIOP. I'm on Win7, Chrome 23 http://i.imgur.com/cdQdj.png

I'm not going to lie, I had a good laugh thanks to this post. Not that I fault the method being used to combat memory leaks. Depending on how much (of pg's) time a restart takes, this may be the most efficient way of handling it, but the

This is possibly the funniest thing I have read this year. As an aside, the amount of thought and focus this guy obviously can devote to a single topic is amazing. I really hope someone is paying him lots of money (or whatever he prefers)

Thanks for the information and the link, that is a really cool site! I'll make sure to use it on future projects just to make sure I'm not completely screwing over color blind people.

Like I said, disabling port 80 is a great way to handle this kind of attack. Those would obviously be trickier. I'm no network security expert, but I would assume that they are much more resilient to other attacks, as most protocols are

First off, as others have said, disabling port 80 is a great way to handle this, I don't really care that much if I can see/use github the website for a few hours, but I'd be much more upset if I couldn't pull my code. Secondly, I kind of l

I'm in need of this kind of project, but was looking at a python implementation[0]. Has anyone used either one, and any pointers either way? --- [0]: https://github.com/ezyang/git-ftp

Except that the heliocentric model greatly simplified calculations. Take a look at Ptolemy's (and others) many epicycle model for something super complex and still not very accurate.

So the picture doesn't really make it obvious, but I believe they are talking about the item emphasized here[0]. I might just be dense, but why would NASA think that is a part of the rover, it really doesn't seem like it to me. As an asid

Others have mentioned it, but for those looking for much less than Bootstrap/Foundation offer, there is always skeleton[0], which is a very lightweight grid and only a little more. There is also a SASS port[1], or my fork[2] which handles

CubicleNinjas, your post is dead, but you seem to offer some good feedback for the Layervault team. Just a heads up that you might want to create a new account and repost.

That's a fair point, but when you say that you want nothing to do with a company because they use a billing model that you don't like, it sounds bad.

Right, because a middleman that finds work for you and handles making sure you get paid, taking your potentially risky freelance business and making it slightly more like a stable job deserves exactly zero of your precious money. I don't un

Let's say I know a little bit about crypto in general, and wanted to write a software implementation of Keccak/SHA-3 as an academic endeavor. How hard would it be? I'm not looking to produce something that will be certifiably secure again

I have very little perspective here, but this seems like a low price for /. and SourceForge ($20M). The article states that last year alone the two sites brought in that much revenue, but I'd assume they weren't bought if the purchaser did

Really interesting application of category theory, I'd love to see a nonlinear editor with a good UI. Don't know if the general public would bite, but I think there could be a niche market there. As an aside, thanks @ColinWright for anothe

It might just be me, but the (R) is practically invisible when looking at the logo on the whole. The TM is much more obnoxious, but I can see why they might be hesitant to use four rectangles askew without it.

Ok, first question, why aren't we all using Plan 9 instead of a linux-based OS? Maybe more importantly, what could the next upstart kernel/OS do different than Plan 9 if it wants to be more successful?

So what are the chances of someone who's never really dealt with web security capturing the flag? Last year's results don't make it seem too promising, 12k unique IP's -> 250 captures.
