Lets not kid ourselves about Web apps. We get control, but working with JS, limited APIs as well as rewriting everything that an OS would provide in God knows what ever framework of the day is horrific. As someone who splits time between .N

React is so much different from other frameworks, I feel. Someone that doesn't know React can basically come in and start working on a large app from Day 1. It is so much less frustrating than Angular, Backbone + Ember + handlebars, et

One editor barely using React doesn't mean it's going to swing back the other way now. React actually has good ideas and breathes fresh air into the JS community. Let's not forget how kick ass React is y'all.

I'm sure it would help if these tests used the minified version of React on the server. Also this test could be more efficiently written. First (in SearchResults.jsx), setState accepts a callback in its second parameter, you don't

Apple is damn right for ignoring the web, JS is an extremely immature language (I say that working with it everyday, even with ES6 and experimental ES7 features). Developing a real app with JS, where you have rewrite everything that's

Webkit keeps prefixes usually because it is not implemented fully and it is an experimental feature. They began unprefixing flexbox in Sept. 2014, I don't know when it's gonna ship. Though, its super unfair that the Web Inspector

We always see these performance benchmarks, which are great but are low on the totem pole for technology choice. Really good questions to ask and statements to reassert: * Does is scale well? * Will this framework / library help me in

Instead of wholly claiming Swift is slow (with your limited expertise in the language, as well as running no optimizations), why don't you reach out to see what you can do to improve performance? Sid you reach out to anyone to see what

I think Westerners underestimate value in IP, it is extremely important and China is beginning to realize that they need to enforce protections. They have already begun to open up courts for IP. We're all over-hyping China these days,

18 months - 2 years would be an appropriate time to use ES6 features safely without a transpiler (however we will still be using transpilers in the future for ES7 and ES8). But you can use them today using a transpiler like 6to5 or Traceur.

We don't have to wait to use these features, we can use them today with Traceur, 6to5, ES6ify, etc.
