As someone who's contributed multiple patches to multiple open source projects, this is 100% truth. I have >3 month old pull requests to add tests which have never been looked at - whereas someone who knows the project maintainer

Faster in theory maybe. In production nginx has always faster, more stable, less resources. I've used both extensively. Varnish has more caching features and configuration for sure.

I use psql most of the time...it's autocomplete features are scope aware, only problem is editing large queries - so I copy/paste from a text editor (which has syntax highlighting as well).

The only real features missing from the free version is filtering the result set and multiple connections at the same time. For filtering I actually found it easier to use psql directly - but the GUI is nice for browsing data and making sch

Some back of the hand calculations show it would take about 3 days using the article's method and a 2gbit pipe. Out of curiosity, how long do you take to process 130tb on hadoop and where/how is the data stored?

The second you take it public, it will get destroyed. It's the classic "I don't want to be in a club that wants me" vs "I want to be in a club that doesn't want me"

I can't put down a person for effort, but this tool doesn't work at all. Over half the pages I tried are missing content entirely.

Kudos to Gitlab, though they seem to have a case of featuritis at the moment. Don't get me wrong, the features they have added are great; but I'm slowly getting lost when clicking the cog button.

I think speed would be the problem, getting 100 x 5mb packages would incur a lot of per file overhead.

Use the grid to get a prototype up fast. Then you do the real work and convert it to media queries that fit your design.

Anything is easy if your content is just text. Stick a menu, some photos, a table, a form and item layout in there and you start hitting the pain points of web design. Of course this is no excuse to not be able to make a perfectly responsiv

Paying $0.21 to serve 30k pageviews over an hour is expensive. Paying $0.21 to serve 30k pageviews over a month is dirt cheap. He did the latter, stop comparing to the former. The smallest VPS you can get is 10$/month.

It's been almost a decade, a lot of bugs, annoyances and slowness has been ironed out. Most important libraries are py3, which is a biggie, and py3 changes were backported via __future__ to py2 so you can easily begin getting used to t

Yes but not on the same scale. In an air conditioned room it will take longer to 'bog down', but once it goes over the limit its over.
