Google is large enough that I assume they keep an eye on every language of note. As I understand it, they use a number of different languages for their various needs.

No, the worst merge lane is the Treasure Island ramp onto the SF-bound lane of the Bay Bridge is the worst ever. You have approximately 5 feet to get from a stop at a stop sign to highway speeds.

Did you, the submitter to HN, present the presentation, or were you there? I'm interested in how LIPSs in general are viewed in India, and Clojure specifically, with its JVM integration. Is there anything more about this talk?

Well, the game exists (there's a link to download the jar) but the premise is a joke ... unless your comment was also a clever joke >_>

I don't think there is any reason to make them change it unless Google complains (unlikely; I am guessing Tumblr is much more visible than ispyapp.com) - I couldn't find any ToS for signup about appropriate usernames. You might want to info

Safari in OS X made my CPU fan really start to kick up some noise, and it was still pretty choppy on my beefy MBP - the full screen transition was too.

I've a friend who was born and lived for about 14 years in mainland China, and holds the belief that the bulk of the chinese people are somehow not 'ready' for real freedom. Of course, her head nearly imploded when I had to be the one who t

That's true too, but what I meant was more specifically for MMOs (and games that have the player move in similar ways) - any bits of fun in the game should be not more than a 30 second drive/walk/run from another one. Imagine, for instance,

I remember someone mentioning that WoW (and other good MMOs) have a 30 second rule, in that you can run 30 seconds in any direction and find something to do (even if its killing more mobs) in order to keep the player's attention

That patents now last 20 years is completely absurd in the modern world. Anything that is 20 years old has either long ago become ubiquitous, or is long forgotten. Even 8 years is too long these days in many markets (esp. technology) but w

I guess you can view newLISP in at least two different ways: a naive implementation of it, or a reboot of it, branching from a much older LISP than most today do. I think of the new LISPs out there, Clojure has its act together much more th
