This isn't too surprising. The slate seems too much like a "me too" device, with more hardware features than the iPad, but not enough thought put into the UI and UX

having had both matte and glossy macbook pros, my own observations seem to confirm this: colors are richer and display is brighter (across the same model) but glossy screens get smudged a LOT, and reflect just about everything

It seems, as others have pointed out, that a big motivator for this change was to prevent, or at least slow down, cross-platform app development. However a loophole exists: if right now you code in Generic Intermediate Language A which tran

I don't think this matters with the new Apple iPhone dev agreement terms - these new terms are going to hurt quite a few apps when Apple is really just targetting Flash->iPhone converters... using a shotgun to kill a fly.

I basically don't pay attention to stories on April Fools day - to the few I do, I just wait and see if there is any follow up the next day.

"Most people that have handled an iPad dismiss that it's just a larger iPod Touch" Is that a typo ("have handled" -> "haven't handled")? Because reports of actual hands-on use I've read have been glowing. First example I found from goog

I had a similar idea a few weeks ago: I wondered if, given enough blog posts/tweets by a given person, could you create a close approximation of a their personality as an AI.

I'm not sure I'm down with this "explanation" in the article. I have no problem calling the Sith, or at least their behavior, evil. The Sith - or at least those we have seen in the movies - are power hungry, and practice behaviors that ar
