To what extent are these customers blaming the hammer for hitting their thumb? (Legitimate question: I manage several PB with ZFS and would like to know where I should be more cautious.)

"behave" in this context can refer to simply respecting existing norms about RC code freezing.

I'm jumping in here to hopefully clarify: "13:00 December 25 2025 Europe/London" is local time but its Unix timestamp is an estimate depending on how the tzdata database looks right now. "13:00 December 25 2025 +010

Those introductions are iconic! There is no delay and no doubt about what is about to happen. I have the full back catalogue downloaded but never considered that I'd need to start trimming. Audacity? Are there automations possible?

Ironically, the only use I have for Slack is to communicate with an external web developer that we contracted. In my world... EVERYONE (50/50 internal and external) is on email and/or Teams (or the phone). It works. Shit gets done

> email heavy workflow What do you mean by this? I send 5-15 emails a day at a minimum throughout the day and receive just as many directly with another 2-3x as cc in various distribution lists (which I read in full). Add in server notif

Without IP law it is all or nothing: obfuscate, hide, encrypt, and protect lest it become public domain. With IP law you are given the exclusive, enforceable right to control the distribution and sale of an idea for N years... at which poin

I feel privileged to have used a QNX-based system at work. The desktop environment (Photon) is almost enchanting in its simplicity. I've since learned about its ties with BlackBerry and the automotive Linux world and I'm glad the

Wow, I've never heard of 'mlr' before. Looks like a synthesis of Unix tools, jq, and others? Very useful - hopefully it's packaged everywhere for easy access.

"I used o3 on my Pocket lists to generate a profile of myself" would be better. The author is the agent, not a passive participant. Though if it were me I would go with "Self-profiling with Pocket and O3"

Why SDF over a free limitless VPS? I joined SDF last year and was disappointed. I was willing to tolerate the limitations (eg. can't change your shell unless "validated"; can't even 'touch' a file...) in exchan

The only downside I've discovered from using this version is the inability to install `winget` and thence, Windows Terminal. I was able to add it at one point but then MS added new barriers and I haven't attempted since.

Epicurus was a strong proponent of living with friends though I much prefer my own living space. A 10-minute walk would be a perfect compromise.
