I have always been bummed when listings had huge fields of data statements. In my mind, it was a little bit like cheating. Like using cake mix instead of ingredients. I created a series[1] (pardon the plug) to make the software I had wanted

It might not exactly be the same as operating real hardware, but I have tried to address this by creating a small VM that is simple to use, understand, and modify[1]. [1] https://latenightsnack.io

Thanks! That was exactly my intent. I added links to jsbin now, so it should be easy to quickly experiment with the code. I have a few ideas (http server, text compression, blockchain) but I'd like to hear some from you. Any preference

Thanks (and thanks for the typo as well)! I toned down the color theme, and increased contrast. I did not cache-bust, so you might have to clear your cache. I hope this makes it better!

One of the reasons I set on this "espresso" format is that I wouldn't be able to find enough time for a more expansive write-up. I hoped to compensate by including plenty of links, and making it easily modifiable. Maybe I sho

That's how you patch software :) An open, if somewhat artisanal, process. I have toned down the intensity of the yellow background, and increased text contrast. I hope this improves!

My favorite "toys", by far, are those happy, cheerful, friendly implementations of famous problems, that make for a fun but educative learning experience. It may not be as huge in scope, but allow me to plug my own initiative: ht

I can't praise MailMate[1] enough here: A lean, no-fuss mac email client with first-party support for Markdown (with syntax highlighting!), and plenty of other goodies. Cherry on top, its developer is very active, and keeps a regularly

That's why I'd have loved for Thunderbolt to take off. It looks to be a much simpler and sturdier connector.

Energy use _should_ go down overall, as the CPU takes more time to perform this type of task, compared to a GPU.

I say you are committing the same sin exactly. The audio industry is the most adapter-heavy industry on the planet. I need to carry a bag of adapters, and I'm just a small-time home-recording guy. Single/double RCA to mono/st

The native iOS behaviour is to only do that when flicking (ie. scrolling and letting go). Didn't see anybody copying that yet. However, it makes a huge difference in usability.
