If you can't self-host because you don't have the ability to, but can't use cloud services either because they could shut down, what alternatives do remain?

…except that this just has just become an open-source API that is self-hosted?

I'm not really an expert on the matter, but couldn't PNG filtering be implemented in the same way, i.e. as a filter just like Farbfeld? This way it would keep the same composability, and be used with other formats too. Considering

The simplicity of the approach means that, given that the compressor is not baked into the format, it is readily exchangeable without having to change Farbfeld. In addition, nothing stops someone from creating an optimized compression forma

Should be possible using `calc()`. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web/CSS/calc

I think most people would refer to this as a "boilerplate" or "project template", even if it is not exactly so. You may have more luck explaining it to people using these terms.

The driver does not appear to be compatible with El Capitan yet. Insta-purchased anyway because this feature was definitely needed.

He means to preprocess your props+state into a simple dictionary, so that you have moved 90% of logic from `render()` to a different, more testable function.

"Genuino" is the actual Italian word for "genuine". To Italians it sounds very good, and evokes images of a "handcrafted" brand.

Why on Earth are we still using such unsafe languages? If the author had written this in a modern, safe language like Rust this would not have happened.

Sorry, but this is a trite argument. It's visible to everyone that "the stack" is being rethought in that direction since DHTML became a thing (which was many, many years ago). It does not matter much that it was not original

The way you've written this code, `this` refers to `o`, as it has been evaluated at the time of execution of `f()` (first case) rather than inside the `setTimeout` callback, at which point it'd be `Window` (second case). So yes. B

The first two games in the XCOM series, UFO: Enemy unknown and Terror from the deep ([1] and [2], but you can't not know them) use the same kind of layout. Unfortunately this gave rise to a series of issues, largely for the same reason

Cards are usually swiped in a somewhat smooth motion. Even then, it's easy to fail the motion, and you often need to swipe again. The anti-skimmer moves the card very fast in short bursts, so while it may seem just a bit jittery (avera

The game renderer is also too coupled to the game backend. They should be separate pieces which only communicate via a RESTful API. Except the first frame should be rendered server-side to save time.

There's a huge price for that, fragmentation. Not only it is implied apps should develop a specific layout just for it, but IIRC it also has a different viewport size which is not a multiple. On top of that, the 6 already reports a new

I believe it stands for "viewport width" which is specified in percents over the width of the browser viewport. Google has a first-class definition, too: https://www.google.com/search?q=css+vw+unit
