Now I love that the company job board conveys the same type of ideals. http://www.shopify.com/careers?posting=ruby-developer . Nothing gets me more than founders saying "I didn't go to college and look how great I did" while requiring thei

I really wish this was at the top. Everyone will fuck up at some point (even your best engineer). Whether you learn anything from fucking up really determines how bad your mistake was.

Used for a bit and appreciate the effort. Always felt the navigation wasn't a good fit because of the way it pulls up the pages (non full screen). I prefer just heading directly over to HN via my iPads browser.

Good to see them being proactive about it. Wonder how quickly they will be able to determine that Ruby/Gems are safe to deploy again.

It is interesting to note how even the apology is more directed at discussing BetaPunch and learning rather than apologizing. How does "Why I won't be closing down BetaPunch" have anything to do with the apology? Seems out of place and sti

So, CS2 is free but it is actually not free? Interesting that they would make CS2 free as it is only compatible with PowerPC based Macs. Should have just made CS4 free and had more people jump onto the upgrade bandwagon!

This "8 week" number thrown around by every company looking to teach people to code where did it come from? Does someone have an independent study that backs up the 8 week figure or is everyone choosing it because it sounds good? I love all

Thinking of applying as a single non-technical founder. All I have is an idea but I am sure with the $37 dollars I could hire an awesome programmer to put it together for me! EDIT: Seeking technical co-founder to help build out idea. Must

Learn something new everyday on HN! Didn't know this existed and I am wondering how they actually achieve this via Amazon but that's their secret sauce.

Coming from NYC and commuting on the subway everyday for around 40 minutes was a pleasure (as you could read a book, listen to music or do something else to amuse your time). Driving is any longer than 30 minutes to work (each way) is going
