Truck driving is a devastating profession. My dad drove trucks for the better part of 2 decades. It hurt his physical health (immobility for hours on end punctuated by the occasional food/rest break)and did ridiculous damage to his psy

Agreed...I remember using VRBO before Airbnb was a thing. For historical reference, VRBO was purchased as an 11 year old company by Homeaway in 2006, 2 years before Airbnb was started.

This is especially true in Asian cultures where (as cited) rice is such a central part of the cuisine. The way that foods are prepared are tied often to tradition, family history, etc. Shifting even small habits is a huge undertaking: http

There are people around the world starving because they don't have access to enough calories and we're trying to figure out how to reduce the caloric values of foods. At the same time we're coming up with stuff like Soylent b

I wonder if the author would have picked 47 as his number had he lived in 1900. It seems he's content with the advances that have increased life expectancy since then but feels it somehow inappropriate to shoot past 75. As a counter-ex

There's actually something of a negative feedback loop that's taking place. Women get a ton of junk messages (spam, inappropriate, etc.) while men get responses to their initial messages very rarely (most often just dead silence).
