And its also distinctive because you can (with some caveats) use separate USB cables to each side, rather than a cable spanning the two parts. That works really well for me.

It also incorrectly assumes the purpose of a forum (this and many others) is to simply find the answer to the person's question. For as long as people enjoy reading, writing and discussing, the only important thing is that readers can

The Technics SL-1200mk2 (or 1210, in dark grey) turntable for vinyl records. In case you aren't aware just how influential this design is: specifically the mk2 as it was manufactured to (almost) the same design all the way from 1979 to

I'm using it on my laptop (Thinkpad X270) and it's great. I don't think there's much credibility to saying it's not "meant to be used" as a desktop; since the packages available suggest to me there's

"sudo -e" prevents you committing a file with a syntax error, because that instantly locks you out of all sudo access. The replies about security are interesting, but I think they are over-complicating this!

Is it even hilarious? Hasn't everyone who's used a recruiter joked, at some point, about them finding their old job?

What's your own level of experience? I think the answer may differ depending on this. Also to get a barometer on just how dysfunctional the company is versus realistic expectations.

That is to confuse "long tail" with "doesn't matter", though. If a supermarket doesn't stock goods in the long tail, its customers shop elsewhere. Dismiss the "long tail" and we wouldn't have cha

Last time I wanted to build anything Xorg-related, I found the fragmented repos to be also a barrier. Both mean the project loses out on casual development -- ideally I would check out the "latest" code for the ecosystem, build it

Isn't there an 'arrogance' in the premise when we ask these sorts of questions? Not a personal criticism; just an aside from the technical question for a moment. It's the assumption that we've decided something we c

I suppose it's that everyone has their own "just one more thing" (in your case MP3 playback). The best way to not go down that rabbit hole is for the device to be a connectivity hub -- a functional device, not an entertaining

I feel they keep missing the point here. New phones with old specs that don't even have the positives of the phone they're paying homage to. Bring me an 8310 with 4G, WiFi hotspot and a little e-ink display. That's it. Then w

I'm a wildly optimistic person; could you suggest all your neighbours (including yourself) do these jobs at the same time? A sort of "preferred noise hour" for machinery. Even if its not a hard and fast rule, I'd hope mo

I thought the same, and was surprised to find the problem here seems to be that there's no part of the HTML spec to set the allowable characters in a text input. So JavaScript to intercept keypresses or postprocess the string is risky
