What? The entire definition of being concurrent is doing work in parallel .

> Multiprocessing is the way to do parallelism. Deviating from that should be an exception Unless you have a language that doesn't break down when you use threads. Threads are unquestionably easier and better to use for multiprocess

Been doing something like this but instead of a custom parser, I've been building it against clang's own AST instead of reinventing the wheel.

No... Developers are really easy to impress. Show them something that will save them time and effort to make something and they will flock around it. You give them a tool that "automagically" does something tedious they used to do and makes

Everyone is picking their sides in this battle it seems. I wonder what chrome for iOS is going to use (given that it's more just a wrapper around UIWebView with some chrome like features).

I was at Costco and spotted this on all the demo machines for windows: http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/b97e94147e0311e29a8... Someone had installed "classic start menu" on all the machines. These machines are offline, so I'm assu

I'm cofused by what "executable" means in this context with markdown. Is this some kind of documentation support for coffeescript? or is the code executable in the blocks in the markdown script and literate mode is a way to invoke "document

That was for the microformat for logo. It was rejected because use rel="icon" type="image/svg+xml" already existed which is what this standard seems to push.

I know Github banned bots, but I don't think it would be unreasonable to write one to warn all these users.

I didn't realize this was sarcasm. Rare find on hacker news. Better access to the cookie controls without hunting in preference panels would be nice, but I'm sure extensions can fix that.

This is wrong. How the hell did we learn "pinch to zoom" on the iPhone/iPad was a thing? We were shown! Lots and lots of demos to re-enforce the action and get users accustom to a thing is fine if that experience doesn't frustrate the user
