I don't see a problem with them. Can't we focus on more important (I mean actual) problems?

Forbes can write that crap, but the problem is with people who make decisions basing on that. I wonder who are these people that care about all this nonsense.

Articles like this are also harmful, prompting companies to lock down their powerful models even further, while spammers could achieve their goal using simpler, open source models.

There are two separate problems - the first one is to make sure others don't have the access you don't want them to, while the other is to make sure that you/others have the authorized access. SIM swapping means someone else

Any form of authentication based on "something you have, but can also lose" is fundamentally broken. Either I'll lose access if I lose the device, or their superior security doesn't matter because the weakest link has to

So now instead of sending the data to OpenAI we send it to Cape? I know that you "promise to keep it secure", but I can only trust you, right? Something like this should IMO be done on-premise

So the reason for not using RHEL everywhere is the pricing model? I wonder whether it'd be possible for RH to optimize it so that choosing RHEL 'd still be the best option for them now that CentOS doesn't provide the same lev

To me it sounds like the pricing model is not optimal. I guess in these situations, they could pay RH "a bit more" in exchange for a legal RHEL license covering those extra nodes. But if there was no such offer then it sounds like

Why should Red Hat provide its main product (stability, compatibility, support) for free? Why are enterprise users so entitled? Why should Red Hat care about them at all?

I'm an individual freeloader, but I occasionally report bugs. I understand that I might encounter bugs and/or provide some free contributions to Red Hat, but that's in exchange for a well functioning desktop distribution. Now

As a Fedora user, I like this. People who want to use RHEL should pay and there should be no way around that so I can use my Fedora for free. Good job!

Yes, I know - my method isn't perfect. But at the same time I don't want to rely on some "irreversible" purely technical solutions to the complex problem of (human) authentication.

Yes, that's true, but it's not an argument in favor of authentication based on something I have . I don't think we can prevent everything, but I at least want there to be some way to undo the damage (things like courts, char

I remember that too and I wish it could stay that way. But today when someone not familiar with technology mentions "crypto", it unfortunately means "cryptocurrencies". And those are only useful for fraud.

I'm sorry, but what should just. be a _progressive enhancement_ in this case completely ruins the user experience for me. However, I'm probably not your target audience, I'm just commenting on this trend in general.

If I have 2 devices, your solution still makes me depend on not losing both of them and so on. I don't want to depend on me not losing them (for example in a fire).

I'm pretty sure you're doing this already. We have courts for a reason, technocracy is a step backwards.
