Except UFT8 is not backwards compatible with ASCII! An application written to only understand ASCII will not print non-ASCII UTF-8 characters. That is what you are asking here. It can't be done with ASCII/UTF8. It can't be do

Thanks for confirming no plans. I've lost track of the number who have promised it for years and never delivered. This looks like a nice app for iPhones, but its not useful for serious iPad work. In case you revisit this decision in th

5K iMac + two P2415Qs is what I'd ask for. Depending on how much travel/client meetings maybe a tablet or cheap compact laptop.

Rockets generally want to fly over unpopulated areas to avoid raining debris on people should they explode. They get a boost as well when flying east due to the earths rotation. As a result, launch pads are located in areas where the rocket

A longer sampling period could certainly be a potential solution. It could also cause a different sort of user confusion. If I start up a game, play for a few minutes and then worry about battery life and go check.. If I still see 8 hours I

This is nothing new though... Every laptop I've owned (including many PowerBooks and MacBook Pros) has gotten about 1-2 hours when playing a game that maxed the GPU and CPU. How does a ~80-100Watt hour battery get more than 1-2 hours o

The time estimates make an assumption that you can use a small sample of energy usage and project it linearly over the remaining battery capacity. This assumption breaks down on modern processors that get much of their energy efficiency by

I agree. Particularly with the USB-C and Magsafe points here. I definitely have had cases where magsafe has helped, but it was primarily with the older macbooks with 4 hour batteries. The benefits of a non-proprietary connector shared with

Ten years ago when Xserves were a thing we ran web servers on OS X, but primarily because we needed OS X for some other server software and it was cheaper to also run a web server on those boxes than stand up a Linux box. We've since a

It is not a fully electric system like the Model S. The drive system is electric but the electricity itself comes from an onboard CNG turbine. The battery just acts as a buffer and place to store regenerative breaking energy.

Yep, aware of how KeepassX does this. Its better than some (i.e. there are locks at all) but dropbox doesn't always cooperate. Have been looking for a better solution, but most seem to not even do the lock file thing.
