If you can speed up your brain by a factor of 10, you could read a book 10 times faster. This is relevant because you might be reading only 1 human-sized book, but you can read 10 times as many!

I haven't done any work on 65C816. Just 6502 so far. It should be possible to make a 'CPU module' for the decompiler which takes into account the features of the 65C816 (such as 16-bit registers).

About interrupt calls... If it finds such a call, all it has to do is look at the call's input registers (assuming they are in registers) and output the call with the 'logical' contents of the registers. The x86 code is basic

Absolutely, although some 6502 code is more friendly than others. SNES code can be very optimised compared to C64 code. If you make sure the binary starts at address 0, and put in the right entry point (which will be somewhere in the SNES R

I don't like to reply to my own posts, but here goes. It's closed source just at the moment. HexRays is closed too. It can run on Linux or MacOSX as CLisp runs on those platforms. I just haven't started work on porting to new

And of course, the anagram software they used (as mentioned in the commentary) was most likely NAMEGRAM, an old DOS program.

Of course, you could connect an Amiga (1200, though) to a VGA monitor with a simple modified cable. I did it with a nice old VGA mono monitor and it was great.

I found this great software (called TIRG) which is free, open source, and finds text in images (though it doesn't normalise to black / white). Compiles fine on Windows. https://sourceforge.net/projects/tirg&#x

An important aspect is stripping text from image, before OCR'ing: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tirg/ Try TIRG. Examples here: http://funkybee.narod.ru/

I remember Matt Dillon's DICE C compiler for the Amiga. It was only a trial version so only stdlib stuff. I wrote a little HTML viewer in it which used ANSI codes to display bold text, italic, underline etc.

I get the news from 2003 to present from GigaNews. I have about 2TB of it. That period is not indexed, so you can only search 1981-1991. When I get a 4TB drive (soon I hope) I'll make the 2003 stuff searchable.

Yes, it can't handle all date formats, so it defaults to 0 which is Jan 1st 1970. It's easily fixable but I haven't got around to it yet.

It's not possible to get Usenet from the 90s, as it simply isn't archived. 80s is archived via Internet Archive and you can get 10 years worth from 2003 via Usenet king GigaNews. Google Groups has the 90s, but it's locked beh

This is my search engine for Usenet, currently only for the 1980s but I hope to have 2003 onwards searchable soon. I have about 2TB of news from 2003 which just needs indexing and uploading. http://www.dejadejadeja.com/10yea

I too use OpenSUSE. I tried Ubuntu on my huge-screen Dell Precision M70, and it couldn't find the Nvidia driver. OpenSUSE got it right first time. I also think OpenSUSE is most like Windows, which is a plus for me.

It's time someone setup an alternative usenet archive to Google Groups. The only people to do this were DejaNews.com, later acquired by Google. Then there was the 'look, we recovered all this old stuff off tapes' which is locked behind capt
