It's quite amazing to see the degree of change; unfortunately, as C++ compilers are so integral to the system, shipping newer code for older platforms is proving quite difficult. We recently went to C++11 and have to drop binary builds

Our student-run computing club added a machine to the pool and melted the University's firewall. Oops.

I really like GitX ( http://gitx.frim.nl/ ), which I use mostly for its commit browsing & search capability. It's free and licensed under GPL-2.

Solaris did (does?) this - "this package contains installation scripts which run as superuser" or words to that effect. Unfortunately I never found a owa to inspect the scripts directly so it wasn't all that helpful.

You do have to install a patched version for mosh support, but for some reason I could never get JuiceSSH to connect to our mosh server so I've been using "mosh for irssi ConnectBot" from http://dan.drown.org/

The done thing on bugzilla.mozilla.org seems to be changing your display name to include "vacation" or similar, but I haven't seen much of that on GitHub.
