Short answer: yes. Long answer: I think that the more minds there are working on this (or any other interesting) problem, the more progress will be made. And we shouldn’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good enough. The field of robotic

> Why can't you just add more smaller muscle fibers that work in concert? Great question. And yes, you can have lots of smaller ones to do the work of a few larger ones. The strength (stress) comes essentially from the cross section

This guy is a great engineer, I’ve been following his stuff for a while now. But there are unfortunately several fundamental limits which mean this type of system will likely never reach human level performance in a real world system. I wor

Absolutely agree. Still, it would be cool to see real data about this stuff if it could be objectively collected

I have a friend who does work involving (legal) use of signal jammers and protocol jammers/deauthers. Signal jammers are illegal everywhere (unless you get very difficult to obtain permission) that has laws, but protocol deauthers aren

I see many articles like this one talking about how cheap these machines are to run and how they must be a no brainer. But It’s not that simple. How many dishes can it make? You have to pay a programmer to add more. What if it breaks down?

Emotional Labour is definitely the better term for it. Thank you for giving me the right term to google. I wonder how much of the ‘economy’ (in terms of work done and the dollar figures we put on that) is actually a part of this undocumente

Great article. I’ve always been fascinated by the question “where does the value of things really come from?” And this article touches on that. Everything ultimately goes back to the fundamental ways we create wealth, and how much time and

I’d recommend just using a long term service channel version of Windows. It’s designed for embedded systems like MRIs so I doesn’t do any of the auto install and restart crap. Also doesn’t have the telemetry or most any other bloat ware Win

I had exactly the same issue. The solution is Windows LTSC (long term service package). It has no Cortana, teams, or Windows store, no Telemetry, and only update about once a month and it never updates automatically, only when you allow it

I’m working on a MEMS problem. I need to be able to 3D print micron (or even sub micron) scale features for a very high aspect ratio MEMS which uses electromagnets to actuate. Only problem is the leading candidate technology EFAB (electroc
