I have a friend who does work involving (legal) use of signal jammers and protocol jammers/deauthers. Signal jammers are illegal everywhere (unless you get very difficult to obtain permission) that has laws, but protocol deauthers aren’t legislated against in any country as far as I know. A protocol deauther is something like a jammer but instead of putting out white noise, it just screams out hundreds or thousands of different SSIDs for Bluetooth or wifi. It makes it impossible for the Bluetooth or wifi chip to function properly and it can often cause your phone to just give up and shutdown. I know there are certain organisations which are starting to use devices like Bluetooth and wifi deauthers to aid in preventing the use of phones or other connectable devices in restricted areas. I.e. you can’t record something nefarious if your phone keeps shutting itself down
