Lemme just chime in real quick as someone at MSFT who this applies to (thoughts are my own, not a stance of the company, etc, etc.) I'm absolutely stoked. I'm well aware of the potential for this to end up reducing the number of d

Silly suggestion - show something like the contribution graph along the very bottom of the card, like a border. Those who know what it means will _know_, to everyone else it's just decorative.

I got a 3d printer this weekend. I'm starting by just printing DnD minis, but I've got schemes to use it to make a cleared game of my own design. Something almost like, chess crossed with Magic the Gathering. For years now I'

This release brings probably one of the features I've been most excited about for a long time now. I'm jazzed that we can finally customize the colors of the title bar, tabs and a whole lot else to a whole variety of new values. T

Yea it's a shame. I feel like all of this could have been avoided with a simple ":P" or "/s" on the original post that sparked the whole controversy. I think we were all really excited about the discussion, but

Huh. Interesting talk, never seen that before. Ironically, most of the things he tries to bring home as his conclusion that "you'd have to rewrite the whole terminal" are things that are already supported by most terminals: -

The idea that I've been throwing around all weekend is one I actually first read about here on HN[1]. The idea of notebook-like terminal emulator. (Admittedly, speaking as someone who's only ever had second-hand experience with no

This is really pleasant to use. For years I've used https://paletton.com/ to similar effect, but I actually like the interface here a lot better. It's a bit simpler, and more straightforward. Great work!

At one point, I think that was one of my in-parallel goals of the Terminal project, but at this point I think it's just become a part of my own mental goals for the Terminal. There's already so much of the tmux-like stuff that I r

Actually, the Windows Terminal shares a lot of its codebase with the Windows Console. The buffer, the VT parser, the renderer interface, most of the UIA implementation - that's all the same code. Improvements here to the Terminal actua

And see, even you've done it here. Command Prompt is `cmd.exe`, which is different from PowerShell (`powershell.exe`), and both of those are different still from `conhost.exe`, which is the actual console window itself. cmd and powersh
