There's a good video on how PS/2 works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aXbh9VUB3U It's pretty straight-forward. There are also pre-made kits for digitizing typewriters if that interests you.

I recently moved an Eleventy static site to start generating AVIF images. It is absolutely incredible the savings. I have images which went from 260kB to 16! I used an npm module called @11ty/eleventy-img which renders the image varian

In 2014 I started a company, and chose Heroku as the easiest way to get my (Go) code running in the cloud. Last year I started a company, and to my surprise, Heroku was still the easiest way to get my (Go) code running in the cloud. I fully

Atomic structure shifts are not conventionally considered ‘moving’. Most people wouldn’t call water turning to ice a ‘movement’.

It's often not actually more complex, it's simpler. With Cloudflare Workers, for example, you don't think about regions, availability zones, provisioning resources, or cold starts. You just write code, and it can scale from o

If it wasn't in Unicode it's highly unlikely your computer could render it to you in your own comment. The Canadian system very likely doesn't support Unicode, or intentionally limits the supported character set.

Realistically the government just needs to support Unicode which has been around since the early 90s.

I believe one reason people are responding negatively to the frame is there is insufficient padding around the content before the frame begins. I know it would be painful to not use all the screen real estate, but I think there needs to be

For the record, I started my career at HubSpot and found it to be a genuinely very well ran place. It actually spoiled me a bit, I had no idea most places have bad PMs or don’t give engineers autonomy.

I agree with this. You can get a kit [1] to hardwire a UPS. You could then take the output of the UPS and run it into a subpanel with a separate 15 amp breaker for each room. That way you won't have extension cords, etc. which might on

I can’t speak to how it’s actually solved, but I can give a sketch from my experience. The game is generally to (1) consider denormalizing data and (2) rethink when you have the computer do work. Denormalizing data refers to moving away fro

If anyone would like to get involved with cave diving, it’s somewhat accessible. For about $5k in training, $5k in equipment, and perhaps four weeks of time you can gain the experience and certification necessary to dive caves.
