Could you provide a use case for this tool? It seems to work, but its value isn't plainly clear to me. (I'm sure you had a cool reason to create it -- I just want to know what that reason was!) [edit] Based on the use case provided, I think

Thank God. Seriously, this restores some of my faith in bureaucrats. [edit] Interesting information from replies. I'll not be so quick to restore faith in the future.

I'm not lazy, I'm just intrinsically motivated . I love that characterization. In all seriousness, this article hit home for me. I went through high school bored and came out with well above average, but not stellar, grades. I was accepted

This is clearly simplified, but nevertheless... [deleted] [edit] Info from comments demonstrates these results, though simplified, to be incredibly optimistic. Assuming a CPM of $1.00 and taking into account the ratio of paid adverti

Your intentions are excellent, but this is already being done on a larger scale: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AtUC5Tzt8MFudF9rYXR... Keep in mind, Ghonim is not the only person missing.

Let me get this straight... You're advocating more violent forms of revolution and arguing that gun restrictions should be removed so that the people might be more capable in the event of said violent revolts?

Link to sourced LA Times article: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/02/google-as... It's much more informative, in my opinion. [edit] Removed snark.

First, it's fun. I can't argue that that may be the case. Second, you'll learn a ton by working with millions of users. This is predicated on the huge assumption that your viral platform attracts millions of users, and that a large number o

One can only hope that this is not quite over yet. There's been quite a few well constructed and thoughtful apologies circulating HN lately, one of which was Andrew Mason's apology for Groupon's Japan blunder. Hopefully, Flickr will pick up

YC isn't accepting anything; YC startups are accepting the investment. Pg addressed this in another thread [1]. It is quite obvious that, assuming your desire is to quickly scale your startup, $10-20k isn't enough. That's why YC has alway

As an aside, HN best practice is to post the title of the article in the most accurate way. "How to not suck" may imply a more light-hearted article, while "How to Craft an Effective VC Pitch" is clearly informative. Regarding the article,

While a pie chart may be the best way to represent fractional data, a pie chart with 10 segments and four shades of grey is not. A better method would have been to include only significant results, coupled with an "Other" category, in the c

These results are not very actionable. First, 148 responses is largely inadequate, especially considering the sheer number of possible choices. 148/10 = 14.8 votes, on average, per choice. Hardly accurate enough to make a reasonable judgeme

Being one of the few teams not from BYU, I was initially a bit worried about potential biases in judging. Quite to the contrary, the people at BYU were incredibly kind and welcoming, and made the experience a generally awesome one. My co-fo

While I am largely asking the same thing, the only bit of answer I could find came from the video: "As you can see, the wireframe does expose a lot of the structural aspects of the underlying page, which can be useful for analysis."
