golang and Clojure are not in the same space, so it doesn't make sense to compare them. And I question this litmus test of using a junior dev anyway.

golang mainly ended up competing with and replacing the likes of python and ruby, where it was intended to compete with C and C++, where it didn't really change anything. It makes sense in retrospect of course, python and ruby are slow

That last claim needs backing up. Sources are World Health Organization (Suicide Rates 2019) and World Health Statistics (World Health Organization)

Yes I wouldn't be surprised at all. It's easy to see how much lower suicide rates are for example in so called "third world" countries that have been war torn, due to no small part by Western colonialism, compared to &qu

Sorry to hear about you and your daughter, and I hope you're both doing better. Was she a heavy social media/cell phone user? It's been shown to cause mental issues in teens, especially girls.

This is where we see the limits of science. It's a great tool and a lot of benefit came from it. But at some point we encounter things beyond its domain. Us people of faith know that God is the cause of existence. In Islamic Kalam we h

All it takes is one drunk driving incident or one drunken homicide incident to turn your life around, which I hope no one has to face. Majority or no majority, the facts and statistics speak quite well about the topic. As discussed in anoth

I hope to see the day where interest bearing loans are recognized by the rest of the world as the evil they are. Muslims and Jews know this fact quite well.

This is the approach of trying to address the symptoms and not the cause. I also mention homicides in my post, but some people are conveniently ignoring it. The dangers of alcohol have been well documented.

I also mentioned homicides in my post, not just driving, do you want to ban human relationships as well? The dangers of alcohol at all levels have been quite well documented.

We'll probably look at what's happening today the same way we look at lobotomies. It's quite scary. As usual, those people are trying to address the symptoms, not the cause.
