There is a permission testing tool built in to firebase. And excellent documentation. This is 100% the fault of developers.

Wish I could upvote this more. In short: Complexity is the biggest killer. And here's a way to view it and tame it.

I wrote this in Elm: https://ixberg.com . (feel free to sign up, use it, share it). I learned Elm by going to an intro course at Lambdaconf, and watching this https://frontendmasters.com/courses/elm/ an

This is hard. Children can be incredibly boring. I love my kids immensely and they are definitely fascinating at times. But there are games they want to play that literally put me to sleep. Or sometimes my daughter will take 15 minutes to b

I've bought, read, given "Finite and Infinite Games" several times. I actually remember the day I bought it (first copy), nearly 20 years ago!

My plan is to print and frame the rejection and use it as a motivator. For me it was an accomplishment to reach a point where I felt I had a solid submission. I know a few things (at least) I can improve for the next time I submit. So, time

I'm interested in teaching non-programmers to program via Elm. I think the baggage that comes from imperative programming is a deterrent to pure fp. But if you start with pure fp, it's all pretty clear.

To the CodeOwl developers: How did this Show HN work out for you? What kind of traffic did you get to your site? Did people give it a solid test-drive? Did they offer good suggestions, find bugs, etc? Thanks.
