You can format it on one line if you want. Please don't do that, though. Personally I prefer the method syntax with one method per line, it reads more linear than the query syntax.

If anything, Python encourages you to use loops because the backwards arrangement of the arguments to map and filter makes it painful to chain them.

The article says Hepburn romanization is based on English consonants readings. Maybe if they based it on Russian instead you would see them using iotated and non-iotated vowels.
