I'm sure other languages have the same problems too, like features getting added to the language which makes it harder to understand, leading to subtle bugs. I'm not a grumpy old saying that the old times where better, there are p

You do not have to add "guards" to every function, just the functions publicly available via API. And you only need to add them when making (breaking) changes, like adding more parameters, but most of the time you can figure out w

It's not exactly wrong as map does call the function passed to it. Maybe the topic was named such as to get up-votes as many people do not like callbacks (which is only a convention to higher order functions used extensively in Node.js

If you did not use map, Promise nor object destructuring you would not have these problems. Code would not look as cool though.

Ive tried to give family members access to private sites, but do you think they remember their login user/pw? Nope. That is the hard problem. Each person should have a publuc/private key so they don't need usernames/pw.

You should write your code so that it can be easy to change. Instead of reusing something to save you 5 minutes of typing, just use it as boiler plate and rip out what you dont need and rewrite the stuff that is not exactly what you need. A

There was one time I had to drag a monitor and keyboard to the server though, when I had disabled the LAN. A possible upgrade to your product could be a 4G modem for remote control. And maybe a small battery so it could send a warning SMS o

Servers are optimized for small size. If the rental space cost is not the biggest cost you can build a quiet server that also performs better! eg. something like a noctua nh on the cpu.

If you are going to create a new language in 2021 please make it use scoped + name-spaced module imports. Everything becomes difficult if you can't even know which variables are used where and what it is / originate from. Global v
