I think they only block /16 or maybe /24 blocks... Meaning they block entire ISP networks... What I do is to simply sign up to many cheap VPS until I get an IP that is not blocked... Then relay all e-mails via that server. I guess

The article lightly taps on the issue... > It’s a key for achieving proper services separation. If you need to touch half of the system to implement and test new functionality, your separation is wrong.

It's hard to make gains after 65, having competed with veterans at various ages it's sad to see the decline at 65+, but they are of course much more vital then their age peers. So don't expect to make the gains this lady has

One annoying thing in JS is that you have to turn recursive functions into for-loops (you could argue this is a good thing as for loops might be easier to understand then recursive functions). I thought the JavaScript callstack limit/e

In this day and age having over 400 actually paying customers is a lot! Even having 400 free users would be a lot. Now the question is - do they play the game ? Any number above 1% is good, so if there are 4 players spending a lot of time -

Could use a different algoritms then on HN et. al. For example, show results based on how you and people that vote like you vote. So the ranking/order would be skewed for SEO spammers, but hopefully better for those that upvote based

Detecting bots is very hard, and there are a lot of bots on Google Adsense. They could however add "captcha codes" for clicking on ads/links search results which would prevent bots, but users would likely find it annoying.

When I started working with databases about 20 years ago talking to peers it was common to have a layer in-front of the database so that you could easily replace the database. It felt stupid until I actually had to do a database migration..

This is a good question, as historically different protocols used different ports to communicate, meaning you could have many services on the same domain/IP, but recently many new protocols run over HTTP port 443... And I think Matrix

You basically just need an extra gfx card (or even headless host). And why would you not want a fast Linux OS? Many SSD's and lots of RAM to make the IDE fast. Powerful CPU for compiling. Good GFX for better latency/hz.
