Does GDPR still apply to London though, or is that yet another victim of Brexit? But yeah, the rest of EU is clearly off limit.

The problem is that roguelike is a very old and established genre, and it is topdown RPG with permadeath. I don't see why meta progression is a feature worth of its own genre - you could easily add it to a roguelike like nethack withou

I would use that definition for "roguelite", precisely because because they are not top-down RPG.

No, it is a shortcut to the third level, and generally I'd not recommend it as you need better wands to survive. It is more a way back up if you get good enough gear to get to the overworld. Also I'd recommend going over the p

This is an great change, but I wonder, will it apply retroactively to indices from old databases or will the indices have to be rebuilt? Like, I understand that just upgrading the version won't reduce the sizes, but will reading and wr

And neither Elixir or Erlang has the raw performance or ability to run without a VM that Go or Crystal has. That was the point of the grandparent - they provide different things. Not everyone thinks immutability is a feature that is good to

One complication is inlining, whre some of those 25 methods may want to inline methods handled by some other process.

Lets certainly hope clang will eventually manage to improve things in that context, because the restriction against parallelization during the optimization step when there is a single compilation unit is quite punishing.

It is also a feedback loop where many of the steps are used to invest in the economy and create more value. So as long as the investments pay off it is a virtuous feedback loop.

> The grocery entity and the banking entity need to be separated Quite a few of the grocery chain cards here in Sweden have accounts backed by chain-owned banks. So at least here, the separation is not all that great.

You can for example flush a temporary db table to storage while doing computations if it ends up too big to fit in memory. Just because it is fast doesn't mean it need to be sustained throughput.

The problem efficiency wise is that modulo (and any other form of division) is really slow. Therefore a binary version of this algorithm exist that only do divison by 2, which is faster as it can be implemented by using a shift instruction.

The problem with Ignalina was not that it was nuclear, it was that it used a horrible old design that both can and have blown up in catastrophic ways. Note that Sweden is also slowly decommissioning our old bad plants.

You can also use io_uring and at least do all the stats in a single syscall (or none, depending on what flags you create the ring with, but for normal use it would be one call).

In Tianjin there was also 600 tonnes of Potassium Nitrate that exploded in addition to the ammonium nitrate, so to compare them you'd need to count that as well.

Well, we can still mitigate the risk quite a bit. We don't have to store 2750 tonnes of it, all in one place, for 7 years. That is asking for trouble.

Roughly twice the amount exploded compared to Tianjin, actually. 2750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate compared to 800 tonnes of ammonium nitrates and 600 tonnes of potassium nitrate in Tianjin. So yes, quite ridiculous.

The trend in self published novels is also towards putting out series of cheap and relatively bite sized books coming out in a tight schedule. Many of these are.. not so good. A few are great.
