Sure, but the overhead to iterate in insertion order is very small. Sorting by key is way more expensive.

That hash values get distributed differently inside the hash to avoid collision attacks is totally unrelated to what iteration order you get when you iterate elements in the hash. You can easily get predictable iteration order and have hash

Other people fight it by adding a defined iteration order. That works just as well and don't introduce randomness.

Yes, hash tables need to iterate in either a guaranteed order (usually insertion order) or a guaranteed to be random order. Either choice make sense, but one of them needs to be picked or people will create bugs like this.

Yeah, that design is very similar to io_uring.

I've yet to see anything I'd consider calling a startup having a DBA. I'm positively impressed if they even default to use foreign keys.

That example is from last September, so it doesn't say anything on if it is improved or not. They probably generate the cropping once , on posting the tweet.

I've had the beta installed a long time but it stopped working a week or two ago. Perhaps I need to reinstall or something now that the main version is live? EDIT: Nope, still can't login. Bleh.

If this is only hiding the potato in layers and layers of companies in different countries, then they have still paid less taxes than what they owe, which clearly is against the law and will generally require them to pay the missing taxes.

For any given tax rate, yes. This because it means the tax rate won't need to be as high to pay for the same things as it otherwise would have to, for everyone else.

It is an extreme response to an extreme problem. If the other researchers don't like the situation? They are free to raise the problem to the university and have the university clean up the mess they obviously have.

If it is anything like the old HTC Desire Z, then it will be super comfy. The downside is the thickness and the increased risk of breakage due to having moving parts.
